Super Bowl Sunday

We had some grand plans for Super Bowl Sunday. We were going to go out to West Chester to visit Baby Boy P, and join in some Super Bowl festivities that mostly centered around eating, eating, and eating. Oh, and possibly some Super Bowl Watching, or possibly watching some commercials. But mostly eating.

BG had other plans. We spent the day at church, grocery store, and by the time we got home, she was exhausted and passed out when she got home.  We figured she'd wake up and be completely refreshed and ready to go, but instead, she woke up and was completely destroyed. She woke up with a fever and spent hours crying, and no amount of holding, rocking, cuddling, offering of food, toys, or drinks would calm her.

She even took a couple of extra naps but each time woke up and was still devastated.

What finally got her to calm down? Well, we decided we couldn't make it to the party. Decided to stay home, and I went through our stash of snacks ... because obviously we weren't prepared for a super bowl party, but we did have some snacks from a little while ago. I opened up a bag of Chex Mix, and she reached out for one, and so I gave her one. Completely fine afterwards.

Who knew that Chex mix would be such a hit. After that, she happily played on her own, eating some mix. Anyways, I like to think that she was upset because the Eagles didn't make it into the Super Bowl. She was just completely confused as to why there was such a big show and the Eagles weren't in it.

In actuality, I think she's finally teething her her last 4 molars..

Anyways, before you know it she was up to her happy self. She's recently discovered she can climb up onto our chairs.

Check out the determination on her face.

The way she bites her tongue just slays me.

But she did it.

YAY!

By the way. Did you notice her huge belly?? I think she drank too many beers last night. Just kidding. Seriously. We don't feed our baby any beer. But maybe we should lay off the salty snacks...
